Non Smoking Sanity
Funnies, My LifeSo today I’m currently at day 8 off of smokes and it’s been a roller coaster. I’ve been chewing a little bit of the nicotine gum.
- day = 8 pieces of gum
- day = 8 pieces of gum
- day = 6 pieces of gum
- day = 4 pieces of gum
And so on you get the idea, anyways today I’ve had 1 piece of gum and I’m doing okay, besides the random bouts of psychosis. I’ve had emotional mood swings from everything
being okay to thinking that I have to find a new job, and wanting to drive people off the road.
Very interesting to watch my mind be so consumed with this preoccupation of my hourly ritual, every time I have a feeling I go smoke, every time I feel good I go smoke.
Every time I feel bad, I go smoke. I’ve had this love affair with a camel for almost 17 years now burning about a pack or more a day. Today I’m finally felling okay enough to admit that I am completely addicted to the nicotine and tar and carcinogens .
It’s slowly getting better I know that but it’s no picnic that’s for sure. I will have more to report and talk about when I have a piece of mind returned to me.

It does get better, really it does. I’m leaving the country for three weeks. Hope you’ll be way beyond 30 days when I get home. If I could do it you can. BTW, I did quit my job after I quit smoking.

Admittedly, after reading this post I got up from my desk and went outside. Weird that thinking about quitting only makes you smoke more, especially because I know my quit day is closing in fast.
Along that note, I don’t think blogging about this is going to help because it keeps that train of thought (Homer Voice: mmmm.. cigarette) at the front of your mind. All of the times I’ve quit (3-8 months) I completely immersed myself into something else and didn’t look back.
Conversely, when I started back up again it was because I found myself in a new job/situation and found it to be a comfortable way to socialize within that new group. Yeah, I’m an idiot.

I’ve been doing Bikram a couple of times a week, it’s the best help from my psychosis

Bottom line; I had to be willing to go to any length for victory over nicotine, it had
become my MASTER MASTER MASter…
