Austin Real Estate
My LifeThe Austin market is truly calling my name. It’s tough growing up in Los Angeles and not being able to afford a house of my own. I don’t know much about Austin but I have heard it’s a great city to live in. What’s not to like.
- The Austin music scene
- Affordable Austin real estate
- City living
- Young crowd
- Roller derby girls
I am obsessing about actually owning my own place over the past year or so, I’ve heard there are many tech companies out there to get to work at.
Even working in the real estate industry since big development companies are already making a move to develop the Austin area at the same pace that people seemed to be building in Vegas 12-15 years ago. (of course after dealing with agents on a daily basis I have my doubts about wanting to work in that industry)
Of course I’m torn between moving away from the ocean but enticed by the artsy living of tattooed freaks that seem to not be able to find affordable housing in the Los Angeles Area.
I want to know your thoughts about this people tell me the good and bad things about Austin. Let me know what you’ve heard as far as work, what you’ve heard as far as the people?
What are the hot spots to go to, the nice places to eat out?
The Austin area real estate market is a mecca of affordable houses. Half the town is selling at price points of 100-250,000 and the rest of the city is selling at 400k+. It seems a young guy could move out there and actually afford a place or to to get a leg up on the American Dream. Neighborhoods that rival the suburbs of L.A. about 20 years ago. The university out there seems to attract the younger generation that has a great look and feel to them from the tattoos to the music, from the activities to the downtown district.
